Documentary Photographer
Nick St.Oegger is a documentary photographer and National Geographic Explorer based between Belfast, Northern Ireland and Tirana, Albania. His photography explores the close relationship between people and the environment.
Working throughout the Western Balkans since 2013, he has been following the grassroots movement to protect the region’s rivers from hydropower development, documenting some of the last pristine freshwater ecosystems in Europe. He is passionate about re-shaping the visual narrative of the Balkans, sharing positive stories that shed light on the unique natural and cultural heritage of a region still largely defined by conflict.
His long term projects have been exhibited internationally, and he has worked for a range of clients including National Geographic, The Guardian, Vice, The Telegraph Magazine, Die Zeit, Libération, New Scientist, Patagonia and BA High Life Magazine.
